At a Death Cafe, people — often strangers — gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death. Yes, we will talk about death!
A Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes (other than death). It is a discussion group rather than a grief-support or counselling session.
The first Death Cafe was organised in 2011 and since then there have been more than 9,000 Death Cafes in 65 countries. The objective is simple: "to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives."
This edition of Death Cafe will be organised online. We will use Zoom. If you have signed up, you will receive an email with all the information you need the day before the Death Cafe. We will also send you the link that is needed to join.
