Do you want to learn to meditate, but you're not interested in airy-fairy nonsense? This is your chance to start a new healthy habit! May marks the start of a new beginners' course in meditation. By students for students — but UvA employees can join as well.
Once a week, for four weeks, you'll get more insight into how your mind works. Together with a few enthusiastic student meditators, you'll begin to overcome thought loops, downward spirals and an endlessly churning mind.

Contents of the course
We have split our regular course into two parts. In the Meditation Beginners' Courses parts 1 and 2, we teach you the basics of breath meditation. After taking both beginners' courses you'll have learned techniques and concepts that enable you to practice meditation effectively on your own. Among other things we discuss concepts such as the monkey mind, mindfulness, entrancement and intention.
The course is free for members; you can become a member for 10 euros. We need members to be able to exist in the way we do.
